The IM4DC will hold its 2013 International Mining for Development Conference on 20 and 21 May 2013 in Sydney, Australia.
The two day conference will run in conjunction with the Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative (EITI) Global Conference held in Sydney on 22 to 24 May.
Both conferences will take a global perspective on their respective themes and will complement each other very well.
The Centre held its inaugural conference in Perth, Western Australia in August, which was a smaller one day Roundtable format. The event brought together leaders from civil society, government and industry to review the performance of mining in generating economic benefits and facilitating social progress in developing countries, and to identify the themes and principles required to guide future policy and practice.
Updates on the 2013 Sydney conference will be released as plans are developed.
